I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating thankfulness and the blessings this year brings. I absolutely love this time of year and the closeness it brings. Aaron and I hosted Thanksgiving this year. And like most special occasions, Aaron was full force in the kitchen while I tended to other details like place settings and flowers and trying my best to make the table pretty and inviting for all.
Kaia and I decided to skip on names for place settings this year and instead write tiny messages on eucalyptus leaves, words we wanted our loved ones to hear. Words we wanted to wrap them up in. Words that hug. So we each took a handful of leaves and started writing things that came to mind. My favorite one she wrote, be kind, love yourself. So simple yet those words, LOVE YOURSELF, are words I need reminding of from time to time. Especially in this season of motherhood where we give give give so much of ourselves. It’s easy to get lost and put self-care on the back burner. So when these words showed up, I squealed with delight. So much YES in your words, daughter. So much!
I hope you had a nice long weekend of loving on those you love, your neighbors, your friends, and that you also took time to love on yourself too! Maybe by snagging that special something you’ve been eyeing on and took advantage of that Black Friday deal 😉 !
