A Gift that Keeps on Gifting
I am not the best when it comes to printing photos. Actually, it’s been a goal of mine this past year to get the girls baby books and yearly photo books up to date. I have been lacking B I G T I M E and the further I let it get away from me the more overwhelmed I get, so I have been trying to do things in phases when I get the chance to. The thing that is so magical about photos and storybooks of you or your adventures or, if you have started a family, of your child/ren, is that they keep on giving. They are the happy memories that give you a hug when you need it. Or something to cozy up with on the sofa and peel back layers of pretty photos to relive once again. They have magical powers in many ways and this photo book in particular is just so.
This past spring Artifact Uprising came out with these beautiful storybooks, The Story of You. They are what I like to call, a treasure. They are simple and timeless, yet they are a placeholder for that ever so precious first year of life.
The book opens with a letter. The first letter you may ever write to your baby along with images that introduce their tiny features. The book then closes at month twelve with a big celebration of life– quite possibly the most adventurous, heart growing, year of your life, with an another letter and an image of what I may assume a big toothy smile dipped in frosting and cake. It is a story. One of profound love and growth. One they are writing but as parents and caregivers we are so lucky to witness and capture for them during these sweet, young, and ever so fruitful years.
I gifted the first book (of three!) completely finished, filled to the brim of images and stories and love notes to Klo last week for her birthday. It is pure delight to flip through the pages and relive and tell her how her story began and what I felt on that very day she came into our lives.
Artifact Uprising has been gracious enough to offer our readers 10% off their very own purchase of The Story of You book. Simply use code: LLM10 at checkout. This offer does expire one week of this posting date.
