To follow up from yesterday’s post which you can read here, we started something new this month. Every evening we are writing notes of thanks and placing them in our thankful vase. Things we feel most thankful for each day. We plan to keep these little notes of thanks secret (crossing my fingers we can all abide) until Thanksgiving Day where then we will pull them out one by one to read out loud and share together as a family. The girls are pretty giddy about this, as are Aaron and I.
For our littlest two who aren’t quite old enough to write their thoughtful words of thankfulness down on paper we are doing something a little different. We are encouraging Kendi to describe what she is thankful for, something that made her heart smile, each day and sharing that by using one word. For example, story time or chocolate. My girl loves her chocolate! As for Klo, we are simply writing down something that she said or did that brought us the most joy each day.
It’s been nice to take minute, to hit the pause button, and really reflect on our day together and/or even the parts where we found ourselves apart. This vase thankful notes is already working it’s magic throughout our home. I encourage anyone to give it a try.
In other news, it is currently snowing outside our window right now and it’s bringing on all these cozy winter feels.
Happy weekending, dears!
