If you follow along on my instagram stories you may recall me sharing how I went all fixer upper on a dollhouse. Well, here is a peek of the final result. The dollhouse was gifted to Klo, however, it’s easily become a favorite among all my girls.
You can see the before here under highlight dollhouse. I regret I didn’t take many before pictures but the highlight stories will give you a good idea of it’s condition and what it looked like. I felt like I was doing a mini renovation on a 70’s home that housed many cats. It wasn’t pretty taking up the carpet or ripping the years of old contact paper off the walls, but I’m pleased with how it turned out!
Some of the furniture you see in the house came with house as well as from one we previously owned. I also scored a couple cute dressers from the dollar store, the dinning room table and sofa and chair from Hobby Lobby. For the other details, my mom made the pink bed and I used scrap fabric for pillows and rugs. The wallpaper I had from wallpaper samples I had gathered for our home. What I didn’t realize before this whole dollhouse makeover adventure was how expensive dollhouse accessories can be. Let’s just say, it can get expensive fast if you’re not too careful! So my advice is to dive into creativity to save some money. You’ll thank yourself later!
If you’re looking for a fun gift idea though (and for a project), I would recommend this to anyone. I had so much fun creating this space for her.
