Yes, I’ve had Invisalign now for as many weeks as I was pregnant. The changes are big, much like my belly was. And I’m loving the outcome, much like my newborn babe!
For those that are just catching this news, I started Invisalign back in November 2018 to give my teeth some much needed attention and correction. You can read more about my why here. I honestly couldn’t be happier about the process of Invisalign and the changes that I’m seeing in my smile. It’s been a wonderful easy procedure and my treatment team with Park Dental has been phenomenal.
My biggest concern about Invisalign in the beginning was the commitment. Being that you can’t eat with them on your teeth, I wondered how that would affect daily life. Especially since I’m a grazer and love to snack all day long, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the demand and the recommended hours (22 hours a day) that you have to wear them.
I quickly discovered though that it’s not as daunting as it seemed in the beginning. In fact, life with them has been pretty easy and seamless. It’s like they aren’t even there, hence their name ;).
While it took a little time to get comfortable taking the aligners off in public, it’s nothing now after a little bit of practice and letting go of the idea that people are watching. Because in the end, no one is paying attention.
Below is a little clip of a family trip to the farmer’s market. A peek into how I manage and store my Invisalign aligners when on the go.
Invisalign makes things easy and manageable while keeping the magic behind the mechanics invisible and hidden. Which in my case has made me feel less self-conscious and more confident.
